In this publication redesign exercise I wanted to focus on the beauty of nature while also making a unique, beautiful, coffee-table worthy newsletter. The authentic vintage naturalist illustrations are taken from open-source scans of old natural history books into photoshop for background removal and retouching. While photographs of nature are often breathtaking, I wanted something that felt like equal parts humanity and nature, emphasizing the inextricable relationship of humans to our natural surroundings.
